Chris Petersen isn’t holding back praise for Alabama.
As passed along by Adam Jude of The Seattle Times, the Washington coach said Tuesday that Alabama is “probably the best college team I’ve seen. So what can you do but keep humor about it?”
Petersen goes on to mention that Alabama showcases “no weaknesses” and that the Crimson Tide represents the best college football has to offer this season.

The Peach Bowl matchup between Alabama and Washington on Dec. 31 at the Georgia Dome will be fascinating. Most expect the Crimson Tide (13-0) to handle the Pac-12 Conference champions to clinch a berth in the national championship game on Jan. 9 in Tampa, Fla.
Still, the Huskies will be no pushover. They enter 12-1 overall with an 8-1 mark in the league play, with their lone loss coming against Southern Cal on Nov. 12.
It’s nothing new for coaches to praise their upcoming opponent. But Petersen’s statement that Alabama represents the best team he has seen is quite the statement.
Chances are, Washington must play its best game of the season for the Huskies to top the Crimson Tide.
