The college basketball season may officially start on Friday, but that didn’t stop Alabama from making a last-minute roster addition.
Following Wednesday’s practice as the team worked on some late tune-ups before Friday’s season opener, Alabama men’s basketball coach Avery Johnson made a special presentation, giving practice player Landon Fuller his jersey and announcing that he’d be given a roster spot as a walk-on.

The NCAA allows for teams to have practice players, who participate in practice but are not officially on the roster and cannot play in games. The rule allows teams to keep practice depth through the grind of the long season.
The announcement gives another reason for the Alabama locker room to be excited. On Thursday, the Crimson Tide made quite the, picking up five-star point guard Collin Sexton.
Fuller suits up with the Crimson Tide as they play host to Coastal Carolina in a 9 p.m. ET tipoff in Tuscaloosa.
