Alabama players are clearly not taking it easy on their “week off.” Yesterday, star running back Derrick Henry posted a video of himself squatting more than 500 pounds in the Tide weight room.
To put that into context: 500 pounds is much greater than the average “advanced lifter” (390 pounds per EXRX.net), but it’s not nearly as much as the 938 pounds one Alabama man squatted earlier this year.
Here’s video of Henry’s big lift:
Henry has been one of the Heisman Trophy favorites since preseason, and his 2015 numbers — 180 rushes for 1,044 yards and 14 touchdowns — have done nothing but strengthen his case.
His Crimson Tide welcome rival LSU to Tuscaloosa on Nov. 7.
