When Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton’s day was ended by a thumb injury, former Crimson Tide passer A.J. McCarron was given his first real opportunity to show the NFL what he can do.
He did not disappoint.
After completing only one of his first four attempts, McCarron launched a beautiful 66-yard bomb to star receiver (and former SEC standout) A.J. Green, who torched the Steelers’ secondary on a streak route, shook off a pair of would-be tacklers and strolled into the end zone.
For McCarron, it was his first professional touchdown — and perhaps the first of many if he can keep making throws like that.
