Several SEC coaches were asked during Wednesday’s SEC teleconference what they thought of Alabama using former players on its scout teams to help with preparation.
Former Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson was asked the same thing by AL.com’s Lauren Sisler, and gave a first-hand account of the experience.
Parker Wilson played for the Crimson Tide from 2005-08 where he passed for 7,924 yards, 47 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. However, he was on Alabama’s scout team last week playing the role of LSU quarterback Danny Etling. Former running back Trent Richardson aslo served as Leonard Fournette.
It all started with a phone call from strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran asking the former quarterback to attend an Alabama practice, but Parker Wilson didn’t now there was a catch.
