Alabama won its fifth National Championship in nine years on Monday night, and Nick Saban couldn’t have been happier.
The Crimson Tide trailed by 13 points at multiple spots during the National Championship Game, but prevailed in overtime thanks to a gorgeous throw by freshman (and former backup) quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Immediately after the game-winning play, this is how Saban reacted:

What a smile from coach Saban! It’s rare to get a grin like that from arguably the greatest coach in college football history. He now has six national tiles — one with LSU and five with the Tide — tying him with (fellow) Alabama legend Paul “Bear” Bryant for the most in college football history by a coach.
Saban said in an on-field interview that this was the happiest he’s been in his entire life. After seeing that smile, it’s hard to doubt him.
