Madison Prep Academy (Baton Rouge, La.) defensive lineman Troy James has de-committed from Arkansas.
James (6-foot-4, 275 pounds) is a 3-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He announced via Twitter on Friday afternoon he would be re-opening his recruitment. He was Arkansas only defensive lineman committed in the 2017 class. The news comes at a tough time for the Razorbacks with National Signing Day (Feb. 1) less than a week away.
Oklahoma and Texas have shown the strongest interest in James recently. According to multiple reports, he officially visited the Sooners earlier this week.
Arkansas now has 21 commits/signees in the 2017 class. The Hogs will certainly look to add other defensive linemen, likely a junior college transfer, to the class as soon as possible.
