Bielema said Antwine has been allowed to remain in school on scholarship while “working through some issues.” Antwine, a junior last season, initially walked on before being awarded a scholarship last August. He played in 31 games with one start over three seasons. He had 1 career catch for 15 yards.
McClure spent four seasons in the Cleveland Indians’ system after the team selected him in the fourth round of the 2012 MLB Draft. Bielema says McClure informed him early in the spring semester he was “burnt out” and looking to focus on other things. He played in five games last season, recording 1 tackle on special teams. He walked on last spring and has an agreement with the Indians to pay for his school.
“Unfortunately, I thought he was a kid that might be able to help us a little bit,” Bielema said. “But we hadn’t invested a lot in him at this point, so it was probably good timing.”
