FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas coach Bret Bielema apologized Wednesday during his appearance on the SEC coaches teleconference for comments he made during his Monday press conference about umpire Stan Weihe.
On Monday, Bielema said he’d been “guaranteed” that Weihe wouldn’t officiate Arkansas games anymore.
Bielema was furious at Weihe last weekend for a holding call that cost the Razorbacks a first-half touchdown against No. 1 Alabama.
Weihe also made a controversial call in the fourth quarter two years ago in Arkansas’ loss to Texas A&M.
Bielema said Wednesday that he had been premature in saying Weihe wouldn’t officiate his team’s games anymore.
