Arkansas coach Bret Bielema: “Drew Morgan should be good to go”
Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said junior wide receiver Drew Morgan, who left early during Saturday’s win over UT-Martin with an apparent shoulder injury, should be back this week against Ole Miss.
Morgan leads the team in receptions (35), receiving yards (498) and receiving touchdowns (six). His two biggest touchdowns came after regulation in the Oct. 24 four-overtime win over Auburn.
SEC Network reports during the UT-Martin game indicated that Morgan has played through a nagging shoulder injury this season, and that he landed on it awkwardly during the first quarter. He was taken to the locker room for observation and never returned in Arkansas’s 63-28 win.
During Monday’s weekly press conference, Bielema was confident about Morgan’s return.
“Drew Morgan should be good to go with practice on Tuesday,” Bielema said.
Bielema added that junior cornerback DJ Dean should return after missing time with a turf toe injury. “He could have played, but it wasn’t worth it with four SEC games coming up,” Bielema said.
Freshman safety Santos Ramirez, who was suspended last week for disciplinary issues, is also back this week, according to Bielema.
