FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Razorbacks podcast with Jason Kersey and Trent Shadid. On this episode, we discuss coach Bret Bielema’s Monday press conference, the beginning of spring football practices and the hoops team.
SEC Country launched the Borderline Erotic Podcast on Aug. 29, 2016. It is named after the colorful way Bielema described how he felt after beating Texas in the 2014 Texas Bowl.
Here is a quick rundown on some of the topics we discussed on this, the 135th episode of the Borderline Erotic Podcast.
Bielema press conference full of optimism
The guys spent the bulk of this episode discussing Bret Bielema’s Monday press conference that kicks off Arkansas’ 2017 spring football practices.
We talked about the departures of tight end Anthony Antwine and wide receiver D’Vone McClure, both of whom are reserves. We also get into the latest injury information about tight end Grayson Gunter and linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who will both be limited this spring.
Overall, Bielema was quite optimistic throughout his 30-minute press conference. That isn’t unusual for pre-spring and fall camp coach press conferences, but Bielema seems even more optimistic than most — especially considering all the changes on his coaching staff and the disappointing way last season ended.
Other topics discussed include the state of the offensive line and the backup quarterback battle between Ty Storey and Cole Kelley.
Anderson, hoops team feeling good about next season
Trent wraps up this episode of the podcast by briefly discussing Arkansas basketball coach Mike Anderson and his postseason meeting with the media Monday afternoon. After a season that saw the Hogs reach the NCAA Tournament, Anderson is apparently feeling good about things moving forward with his program.
