Arkansas has landed the commitment of 2018 wide receiver Mike Woods. He is the first pledge the Razorbacks have received under new coach Chad Morris. There are nine other recruits in the class who have remained committed to Arkansas in the coaching transition.
Woods (6-foot-2, 188 pounds) is a 3-star prospect according to the 247Sports composite. He was previously committed to play for Morris at SMU. He had been the Mustangs’ highest-rated commitment in the 2018 class. His list of offers also includes Indiana, Iowa State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Virginia and others.
For Magnolia (Texas) High School this season, Woods had 51 catches for 1,018 yards and 15 touchdowns. It was the second consecutive season he caught passes for at least 1,000 yards.
Woods was not recruited by Arkansas’ previous staff under Bret Bielema. The Razorbacks were not even expected to sign a wide receiver in the 2018 class until Morris took over last week.
