DeSoto (Texas) cornerback Byron Hanspard II has announced his commitment to Arkansas.
Hanspard (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) is a 4-star recruit according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is the fourth commit for the Razorbacks in the class. He joins 4-star quarterback Connor Noland, 4-star linebacker Bumper Pool and 3-star tight end Luke Ford as a commit.
Hanspard visited Fayetteville earlier this week with his family. He also visited last November for the Razorbacks’ victory over Florida. He told SEC Country last month Arkansas, LSU, Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech were his top choices.
His father, also Byron, played running back at Texas Tech (1994-96). The elder Hanspard won the Doak Walker Award, given annually to the top running back in college football, in 1996 when he rushed for 2,084 yards.
