The coaching carousel continues spinning for Arkansas, as Razorbacks defensive backs coach Clay Jennings will be take the same position at Texas, Football Scoop reported Wednesday.
Jennings has spent the last two seasons on coach Bret Bielema’s staff at Arkansas.
Under his watch, the Razorbacks ranked fifth (2014) and last (2015) in the SEC in pass defense, giving up 208.8 and 275.2 yards, respectively.
With Jennings taking a position with the Longhorns, he joins a conference and an area he is very familiar with. Jennings, a North Texas graduate, served six years as the cornerbacks coach at TCU (2008-13), one year in the same position at Baylor (2007) and two seasons (2005-06) at Houston coaching safeties.
The departure continues a crazy trend for Bielema’s staff, as Jennings is the 16th assistant coach to leave for another job while serving under Bielema. Ten of those changes have come since Bielema took over at Arkansas in 2013.
