FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas junior defensive end Tevin Beanum is dealing with a “situation he needs to get control of” and is not part of the Razorbacks’ 105-man roster as fall camp opens, Hogs coach Bret Bielema said Thursday.
Beanum, who started eight games last season and appeared in all 13, recorded 30 tackles in 2015. His seven tackles-for-loss ranked fifth on the team last year.
Bielema declined to share specifics on Beanum’s situation, but said it’s “nothing negative.”
“There’s no shenanigans involved,” Bielema said. “We deeply love and care about him.”
Bielema added that Beanum would still re-join the team by the first game, scheduled for Sept. 3 at home against Louisiana Tech.
The Razorbacks open fall practices Thursday evening.
