FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Former Arkansas running back Juan Day and defensive end Daytrieon Dean announced their transfer destinations on Friday. Day is headed to Stephen F. Austin, while Dean has landed at Abilene Christian.
Day delivered his news to HawgSports.com’s Danny West, while Dean retweeted a post announcing his new school.

Day is from North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dean is from Fort Smith, Arkansas. Neither player made much of an on-field impact during their time as Razorbacks.
Dean never appeared in a game during his two seasons on campus. Day’s only appearance came as a redshirt freshman in 2015, when he rushed for 17 yards on four carries against UT-Martin.
Both players went through spring practices at Arkansas earlier this year before announcing their decisions to transfer.
Day’s transfer — combined with Rawleigh Williams III’s decision to retire from football because of a second neck injury — left the Razorbacks with only three scholarship running backs entering 2017. Sophomore Devwah Whaley is expected to lead the charge. Arkansas added four-star prospects Chase Hayden and Maleek Williams in its 2017 signing class.
The Razorbacks are also set to add South Carolina transfer David Williams to the mix this fall. David Williams announced his intent to transfer to Arkansas — taking advantage of the NCAA’s graduate transfer exception, which gives him immediate eligibility — although the Razorbacks have not made it official yet.
