Arkansas defensive back Korey Hernandez has announced his intention to transfer.
On Monday, Hernandez made the announcement in a note on Twitter. As part of his message, the 5-foot-10, 180-pound native of Atlanta mentioned that he has enjoyed “many unforgettable moments at the University of Arkansas and [has] met some great people.”
Hernandez redshirted during his initial year on campus last season.

Hernandez was a 3-star prospect and the No. 90 safety for the Class of 2017, as rated by the 247Sports composite. He chose Arkansas over over Iowa, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Wake Forest, USF and others. He enrolled at Arkansas in January 2017, and he participated in spring drills last year.
Arkansas finished the 2017 season with a 4-8 record. The Razorbacks are beginning a new era under coach Chad Morris this year.
Arkansas opens the season against Eastern Illinois on Sept. 1.
