FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Razorbacks podcast with Jason Kersey and Trent Shadid. On this episode, we took questions from listeners on Facebook Live and discussed quarterback Austin Allen, the new defense and what we’ll be watching when Arkansas scrimmages on Saturday.
SEC Country launched the Borderline Erotic Podcast on Aug. 29, 2016. It is named after the colorful way Arkansas coach Bret Bielema described how he felt after beating Texas in the 2014 Texas Bowl.
Here is a quick rundown on some of the topics we discuss on this, the 143rd episode of the Borderline Erotic Podcast.
Allen growing as leader
We opened this episode of the podcast by discussing Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen and his development as a leader. Razorbacks offensive coordinator Dan Enos and wide receivers coach Michael Smith both praised Allen’s growth in this area, especially as he breaks in an almost entirely new group of pass catchers this spring.
Will offense or defense be better?
On this episode, Jason and Trent answered several questions from listeners during a Facebook Live session. Among the questions was one about whether the Arkansas offense or defense would be better in 2017. Both Jason and Trent agreed that right now, we would have to say offense because the defense — with new coaches and a new scheme — is such an unknown.
How will Hammonds fit in?
We also answered questions about some individual position groups and players. Fans were interested in knowing more about the linebackers. Which of those guys have stood out so far?
We were also asked about T.J. Hammonds, the very talented sophomore who is transitioning from running back to wide receiver this spring. Will Arkansas coaches find a way to get him on the field this fall?
