Recruiting question of the day: Thursday, April 12, 2018
Do you think will get Offensive lineman Trevor Roberson and Joseph Stone?
— Matthew Lowe (@MattLowe5858) April 9, 2018
Arkansas will have Trevor Roberson and Joseph Stone, both offensive line targets, on campus this weekend. They’ll be making official visits, which are allowed in April for this first time with the 2019 class. At their size, it will be tough to miss them.
Roberson is listed at 6-foot-11 and 360 pounds. He attends Wellington High School in the Texas panhandle. He has 12 offers from Power 5 programs, with Arkansas, TCU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech believed to be his top contenders. He visited Texas Tech in March and made his first official visit, to Texas A&M, last weekend.
Stone is a 6-foot-9, 340-pound prospect from Hewitt-Trussville High School near Birmingham, Ala. The Hogs signed his former high school teammate — safety Myles Mason — in the 2018 class. Stone is making is second trip to Fayetteville; he also visited in late February. Arkansas is very near the top of his list entering the weekend.
It’s possible Arkansas could get a commitment from Stone as early as this weekend. The mutual interest is very high with him.
As for Roberson, I think Arkansas is one of his top possibilities. For now, I’d probably lean toward one of the Texas schools getting him. But that could change with a great trip this weekend.
Arkansas also will have offensive line commit Beaux Limmer officially visit this weekend. That’s a wise move as he could help play into the recruitment of both by building a connection among offensive linemen.
Don’t forget the Razorbacks will also host defensive end Collin Clay (Oklahoma City) and cornerback Adonis Otey (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) this weekend. I would place Clay as the second-most-likely commit from the bunch behind Stone. Otey is the highest rated of the group, and is 4-star prospect on the 247Sports composite. I’m expecting him to at least take a few more visits before announcing a commitment. Arkansas has a good chance to be his choice, though.
