Arkansas will be represented by coach Bret Bielema and senior captains Austin Allen, Frank Ragnow and Kevin Richardson II at SEC Media Days next week in Hoover, Alabama.
Bielema will be the first coach to take the stage Monday morning at the annual event. His press conference is scheduled immediately after SEC commissioner Greg Sankey kicks off Media Days at 11:35 a.m. CT.
Allen started all 13 games at quarterback last season for the Razorbacks, throwing for 3,340 yards, 25 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Ragnow, the Hogs’ center, has started 26 consecutive games entering 2017 and is considered one of the best offensive linemen in the country. The Minnesota native considered skipping his senior season to enter the NFL Draft before deciding to return for one more season in Fayetteville.
Richardson is a former walk-on from Jacksonville, Arkansas. He has appeared in 27 career games with six starts. Last year, he started the season opener against Louisiana Tech at nickelback but suffered an injury that cost him the rest of the season.
One potential snag that Arkansas fans should be aware of is the fact that Bielema’s wife, Jen, is pregnant and nearing her due date. If the baby comes Sunday or Monday, Bielema and the Arkansas SEC Media Days contingent would be moved to Thursday.
