FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas defensive end Tevin Beanum will not return to the team, coach Bret Bielema announced Saturday.
Beanum, who would have been a senior in 2017, did not play in the Razorbacks’ Belk Bowl loss to Virginia Tech. He started eight games as a sophomore in 2015 but was not with the team when the 2016 season began because of an undisclosed personal situation.
He appeared in 10 games for the Razorbacks in 2016, last playing in the Hogs’ Nov. 19 win over Mississippi State. Beanum recorded 21 tackles last season.
The Forrest City, Ark., native might be eligible for a medical hardship waiver, which would allow him to stay on scholarship and continue in school, Bielema said.
