FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas junior center Frank Ragnow walked into the stadium with the rest of the Razorback football team Saturday afternoon, seemingly confirming that he will play against No. 1 Alabama.
Ragnow’s father, Jon, died of a heart attack one week ago. Ragnow flew home to Victoria, Minn., last Saturday evening and stayed with his family until Thursday.
Ragnow has been Arkansas’ best offensive lineman this season, and his absence would be a major loss for the Hogs against Alabama’s all-world defensive line.
As recently as Thursday evening, Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said Ragnow’s status for the game remained unclear, although Ragnow had been staying in touch with teammates and coaches and studying the game plan all week.
