Palmer Ridge (Monument, Colo.) 2019 quarterback Ty Evans announced his commitment to Arkansas on Tuesday.
Evans (6-2, 190) is the Razorbacks’ first commitment in the 2019 class. He threw for 3,150 yards, 31 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions as a sophomore last season. Rivals rates him as a 3-star recruit.
Arkansas offered Evans in May and immediately began building a strong relationship with him. He visited campus three times this summer, including being in Fayetteville at the time he announced his pledge. The Razorbacks were his first offer at the FBS level.
“It was a shock at first and then a rush of emotions,” Evans told SEC Country after he received in the offer in May. “I sat there thinking to myself playing Division I football has been my dream since I was six and it just became possible. I felt like a weight had been taken off my back. And nobody saw a SEC school and such a prestigious school like Arkansas being my first. To say that it is a blessing is an understatement.”
Evans also has offers from Colorado, Colorado State, Kansas State and Northwestern.
