MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Arkansas received a commitment from 2017 defensive back Kamren Curl on Thursday afternoon.
Curl (6-foot-2, 175 pounds) has been one of the Hogs’ top targets over the past few months. The 3-star recruit chose Arkansas over Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, TCU and Texas. He is expected to officially visit Fayetteville this weekend.
An all-around performer at Muskogee High School, Curl has been recruited as a wide receiver and defensive back. He projects to play either safety or cornerback at Arkansas. He is the No. 10 prospect in Oklahoma and No. 42 overall athlete in the class.
The Razorbacks now have 22 combined commits and signees in the 2017 class. They plan to sign 23 to 25 total. Curl is the fifth defensive back commit. The Hogs are still in contention to land 4-star cornerback Chevin Calloway and possibly 4-star cornerback Brad Stewart. Both will officially visit Arkansas this weekend. Other than those players, the Hogs are also looking to add another defensive linemen to complete the class.
