Arkansas tight end signee Jeremy Patton is enrolled and on his way to campus as of Tuesday morning.
Patton, the top junior college tight end recruit in the 2017 class, signed with the Razorbacks in December. He was initially expected to transfer from Arizona Western College at the midterm in January. However, he was not yet academically qualified at that time, so his expected arrival date was pushed back to June. Now, his long-awaited arrival is finally happening. Patton posted via Twitter he was en route to Arkansas on Tuesday morning. SEC Country confirmed his enrollment.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Patton was the No. 8 overall junior college prospect and No. 1 tight end in the 2017 class. He committed to the Hogs last summer over Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Southern Cal and several other Power 5 programs.
Patton caught 35 passes for 558 yards and 10 touchdowns over his two seasons at Arizona Western. The Matadors run a pro-style offense centered around the running game, similar to the Razorbacks’ scheme.
Arkansas is still waiting on the arrival of two other 2017 signees — safety Montaric Brown and defensive tackle Melvin Johnson. Neither is enrolled at this time. Brown expects to arrive at some point between now and the start of fall camp late this month.
