Clinch County (Homerville, Ga.) 2018 defensive lineman John Mincey has committed to Arkansas. He made the announcement via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon after visiting the Razorbacks’ campus.
Mincey is a 3-star recruit according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. He is commitment No. 11 in the Hogs’ 2018 class and third on the defensive line. He also holds offers from Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Tennessee and several other FBS programs.
“First of all, I would like to thank God for blessing me [with] my ability to play the sport that I love,” Mincey wrote. “Secondly, I would like to tank my parents and my coaches for keeping me in line and molding me [into] the student-athlete I am. But I am more than happy to say that I am committed to the University of Arkansas.”
Mincey (6-foot-4, 260 pounds) is the first recruiting triumph in Georgia since first-year defensive line coach John Scott Jr. became the primary recruiter in the state. Scott Jr. took over that role in February.
