Ralphie IV had been retired since 2008 after more than 10 seasons on the sidelines in Boulder. She was 19. She is the latest of a few live mascots in college football to die in the past year. Former Mississippi State mascot Champ, who served as “Bully XX” until 2015, died in August. LSU lost its live tiger mascot, Mike VI, in October.
Tusk also sent flowers after the passing of Mike VI.
“Goodbye old friend,” Tusk’s card for Mike said. “May your hunts be fruitful and prosperous at those great hunting grounds in the beyond.”
