FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The kickoff time for Arkansas’ Nov. 19 game at Mississippi State was announced Monday.
The Razorbacks (6-3, 2-3 SEC) and Bulldogs (4-5, 2-3 SEC) will kick off at 7 p.m. ET inside Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Miss. The game will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
Arkansas leads the all-time series with Mississippi State 15-10-1, but the Bulldogs have won the last four, including a thrilling 51-50 victory last season in Fayetteville. The last time the Razorbacks beat Mississippi State was on Nov. 19, 2011 — during Bobby Petrino’s final season as Arkansas’ head coach.
Last season, Mississippi State held a 31-14 lead late in the first half before the Hogs rallied, scoring 28 consecutive points to take a 42-31 advantage into the fourth quarter.
The Razorbacks appeared to be in good shape when they took a 50-44 lead on Brandon Allen’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Sprinkle with 5:33 remaining, but the Bulldogs responded less than two minutes later with a 10-yard, game-winning touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to Fred Ross.
Mississippi State has struggled this season with Prescott now a star Dallas Cowboys rookie. The Bulldogs lost 21-20 at home in the season opener to South Alabama and were 2-5 through seven games, but got a big boost by upsetting No. 4 Texas A&M last week.
Arkansas is coming off a 31-10 victory over 11th-ranked Florida.
Before Arkansas and Mississippi State meet, though, both teams have extraordinarily tough games this weekend. The Bulldogs play at No. 1 Alabama, while the Razorbacks host rival LSU in Fayetteville.
