Arkansas is prepared to offer more than a few helping hands.
On Friday afternoon, Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema tweeted a message that his team will assist for an hour Saturday during the Razorback Relief: Operation Baton Rouge event. Arkansas student-athletes and volunteers from participating organizations will collect items for those affected by the recent Louisiana flooding. The drive will last for six hours, starting at 10 a.m. local time, near Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Those participating in the drive recommend donating items such as bottled water, youth clothing, bedding and school supplies. Here’s more from a school release:
“When disaster impacts those near to us, Razorback student-athletes as well as many other University of Arkansas students look for ways they can help,” Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development and Administration Marcus Sedberry said. “As S.A.A.C. partners with several student organizations, our hope is that we are able to make a difference in the lives of those who are facing these serious challenges. We invite all who want to help to participate in Razorback Relief by donating the items that have been requested.”
It’s wonderful to see such kindness throughout the conference.
