FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Razorbacks podcast with Jason Kersey and Trent Shadid. On this episode, we talked about our Tuesday interview session with Arkansas football players and took questions from Facebook Live viewers.
SEC Country launched the Borderline Erotic Podcast on Aug. 29, 2016. It is named after the colorful way Arkansas coach Bret Bielema described how he felt after beating Texas in the 2014 Texas Bowl.
Here is a quick rundown on some of the topics we discuss on this, the 146th episode of the Borderline Erotic Podcast.
Jackson’s development key for O-line
We spent the first half of this episode talking about our Tuesday evening interview session with several Arkansas football players. The first guy we discussed is sophomore left tackle Colton Jackson, who is currently working with the first unit.
Jackson began the 2016 season as the Razorbacks’ starting right tackle, but lost that job after 3 games. He was candid about how it felt to lose that job and what he did to put himself in the position to start again. Jason and Trent agree that if Jackson develops and ends up being a good player, it would potentially be the difference between a good and average Arkansas offensive line.
Then, we talked about sophomore wide receiver La’Michael Pettway’s interview session. He is currently working with the first unit of a position group desperately in need of new playmakers.
RB tandem could be a force
Sophomore running back Devwah Whaley also spoke to reporters after practice Tuesday. He and junior Rawleigh Williams III could form one of the SEC’s better backfield 1-2 punches in 2017.
Facebook Live time
We spent the last half or so of this podcast episode talking questions from our Facebook Live audience. During that session, we tackled questions about the defense, new wide receivers Brandon Martin and Jonathan Nance, quarterback Austin Allen and more.
