Arkansas QB Brandon Allen breaks school record for career touchdown passes
Arkansas senior quarterback Brandon Allen has now set two school records — and he knocked them both out in the same pass.
With seven touchdown passes on the night and 63 for his career, the senior now owns the records for most in a game and most in school history. Allen tied Ryan Mallett with just fewer than seven minutes remaining in the third quarter against Mississippi State with his 62nd career touchdown pass. He broke it in the fourth quarter to give the Razorbacks a 50-44 lead with 5:33 left to play. The school record for the most touchdown passes in a single game was his own, one he set two weeks ago when he registered six against Ole Miss.
The Fayetteville, Ark., native becomes just the second SEC quarterback since 1997 to throw six or more touchdowns on two separate occasions in a given season. Tim Couch also did it when he played for Kentucky 18 years ago.
