Arkansas sophomore quarterback Rafe Peavey underwent a successful surgery on Wednesday after sustaining a minor back injury during summer workouts.
The injury required minor surgery, but he is expected to be back for the start of fall camp on Aug. 4.
“Unfortunately Rafe suffered a minor back injury during routine summer workouts. He underwent successful surgery on Wednesday and is on the path to recovery so he can return to the field for fall camp. I’m confident Rafe will make a full recovery and will build on his strong spring during fall camp.”
Peavey redshirted in 2014 and did not see any action last season. He was ranked as a 3-star recruit out of high school, and the nation’s No. 19 pro-style quarterback, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Austin Allen will be the Razorbacks’ starter entering the 2016 season.
