FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Razorbacks podcast. In this episode, John Nabors is joined by Trent Shadid as they discuss Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long’s newest role in college football.
SEC Country launched the Borderline Erotic Podcast on Aug. 29, 2016. It is named after the colorful way Bielema described how he felt after beating Texas in the 2014 Texas Bowl.
Here is a quick rundown of some of the topics we discussed in the 177th episode of the Borderline Erotic Podcast.
Jeff Long joins another committee
John and Trent open up the podcast discussing the new role Jeff Long will be taking on in college football. In a press release yesterday, it was announced that the Arkansas Athletic Director would join the NCAA Division I Football Oversight Committee. Long had already served as chairman of the CFB Playoff committee, so this will serve as another accomplishment for the Hog AD. The question is, what impact does it this directly have on Arkansas? Some fans don’t really care to see their AD be a part of third party committees. Especially when it doesn’t seem to benefit the University of Arkansas in any way.
Arkansas basketball gets a wing player for 2017
Since Trent is the recruiting expert for SEC Country, John has him on to give the latest update in basketball recruiting. Brachen Hazen announced his desire to transfer out of Arkansas this summer. That leaves an open spot for a new player to come in. Mike Anderson went out and got a much needed wing man. But will he be a kid that can contribute right away?
Nonsense: Do we really need a “Top Gun 2?”
In the last nonsensical part of the podcast, John brings up the announcement of the sequel to Top Gun, Top Gun 2. It seems that once again Hollywood proves that they can’t come up with any original ideas for film, so they just cash cow a classic movie in hopes that nostalgia will kick in. This is ridiculous and it must be stopped.
