FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Razorbacks podcast. In this episode, John Nabors is joined by former Razorback basketball great Blake Eddins as they talk Arkansas/Memphis series.
SEC Country launched the Borderline Erotic Podcast on Aug. 29, 2016. It is named after the colorful way Bielema described how he felt after beating Texas in the 2014 Texas Bowl.
Here is a quick rundown of some of the topics we discussed in the 173rd episode of the Borderline Erotic Podcast.
Arkansas vs. Memphis looks to be coming back
John and Blake begin the podcast by talking about the report of Arkansas and Memphis reigniting their old rivalry in basketball. During the 1990’s, the Razorbacks and Tigers played each other each season in some very memorable games. It was considered to be one of the better regional rivalries in all of college basketball. But in 2003, then head coach of the Tigers, John Calipari, decided they no longer wanted to play regional opponents. Once Calipari left Memphis for Kentucky, Josh Pastner stepped in as head coach. But he refused to open back up the old regional rivalry game against Arkansas.
Now current head coach of Memphis, Tubby Smith, is looking to start back up the series. Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson and Smith have been long time friends, so expect this to happen sooner rather than later.
