FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Borderline Erotic podcast, the most-listened-to Razorbacks podcast in the country. In this episode, John Nabors is joined by Eric Bolin as they discuss what direction Arkansas should go when looking for a new athletic director.
SEC Country launched the Borderline Erotic Podcast on Aug. 29, 2016. It is named after the colorful way coach Bret Bielema described how he felt after Arkansas defeated Texas in the 2014 Texas Bowl.
Here is a rundown of some of the topics discussed in the 305th episode of the Borderline Erotic Podcast:
Arkansas looking for an ‘Arkansas’ guy
Nabors started the podcast with Bolin discussing how the Razorbacks should handle the hiring of their next athletic director. Former AD Jeff Long did a lot of things for the university that were extremely positive. But many people never warmed up to Long because he wasn’t an “Arkansas guy.” It seems odd for those outside the state, but having a leader with Arkansas ties has its benefits. The Hogs need someone who can understand what this state is all about and the culture it provides. Arkansas is an extremely unique and profitable state where people across all four corners share a passion for their Razorbacks. Whoever the chancellor decides to hire, the new athletic director will have their hands full in the early going.
Nonsense: Kevin Sumlin out at Texas A&M
In the nonsensical part of the podcast, Nabors brings up the nonsensical story of Kevin Sumlin reportedly being fired from Texas A&M.
