Arkansas junior running back Alex Collins said this week he needed to work hard to be great. Collins has 173 rushing yards and a career-high five touchdowns through three quarters as Arkansas leads UT-Martin, 56-21.
Collins ran in from 2 yards for the only score in the first quarter to put the Hogs up, 7-0. He had rushes of 5 and 6 yards to put his team ahead, 21-0, and scored again from 3 yards out to put the Razorbacks ahead, 35-7, before the homecoming crowd. Collins scampered relatively untouched for 63 yards to close out the third quarter.
Collins is coming off a week where Arkansas coach Bret Bielema showed disdain for Collins for little things like being late for breakfast, and said that the only thing holding back Collins was Collins himself.
Collins on Instagram this week said, “Tough times don’t last. Tough people do. Wasn’t fed by a silver spoon but got food when it was time to eat. Nothing in life is just given. Or comes easy. gotta work hard for it. I’m just trying to be great.”
