Arkansas will host Glenn Beal this Saturday, the top 2018 tight end from Louisiana. He attends John Curtis High School in River Ridge, La., a New Orleans suburb.
Beal (6-foot-5, 250 pounds) is a 3-star recruit according to the 247Sports composite. He is one of the Razorbacks’ top remaining targets in the class. His offer list includes 16 Power 5 schools. He recently narrowed his recruitment down to Arkansas, Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, and UCLA. He visited Alabama last weekend.
The Hogs currently have 11 commitments secured in the 2018 class. They have a spot reserved for a tight end, which was previously secured by 4-star Luke Ford from Carterville, Ill. Ford de-committed in June after pledging to the Razorbacks in March. He remains a high priority for Arkansas as he continues to visit other schools and explore his top options.
Arkansas has also been fond of Beal for several months, though. The Hogs offered him last September. SEC Country LSU reporter Sam Spiegelman has the Tigers slated as his favorite and believes he’s LSU’s top target at the position.
Three other prospects from the New Orleans area are making the trip to Fayetteville along with Beal — 2018 running back Marquese Albert, 2019 cornerback Donald Clay and 2019 quarterback Travis Mumphrey. Albert and Clay are teammates of Beal’s at John Curtis. Mumphrey attends John Ehret, where Arkansas sophomore linebacker De’Jon Harris played in high school.
