Arkansas could have an advantage in the competition to land Nixon as the Razorbacks have already picked up a commitment from 2017 tight end Jeremy Patton, a teammate of Nixon’s at Arizona Western.
Nixon listed Cal, Colorado State, Iowa State, Oregon State and San Diego State as the other schools in his top six.
Over the past week, Arkansas also made some recruiting noise just before the current dead period (June 27-July 10) with a commitment and two offers.
The Razorbacks are now up to 16 commitments for the 2017 class.
