The FootballScoop report says Smith is “expected” to take the job “although we understand the official offer has not been conveyed at this time.”
Smith has served as Arkansas’ defensive coordinator since 2014. But there had been speculation about Smith’s job security following a disappointing season for the Arkansas defense.
The Razorbacks gave up 426.6 yards per game this season, and they ranked 10th in the SEC against the run (205.46 ypg) and 8th in the league against the pass (221.2 ypg).
