Arkansas signee Briston Guidry underwent knee surgery to repair a meniscus injury, Bret Bielema told Tom Murphy of Whole Hog Sports on Sunday.
Guidry is a four-star defensive lineman out of Metaire, La., and is part of a stellar defensive recruiting class making its way to Fayetteville, Ark., this fall.
Bielema said Guidry’s injury was nothing major, and that should be ready to play by the start of the camp — and running again in about four weeks.
“It was something that happened previously in high school,” Bielema said. “Really nothing major. Our goal is to have him back by mid-July and he’ll be able to roll back into things before then, but he should be 100 percent.”
Arkansas is expecting big things from this recruiting class. Guidry was expected to play a key reserve role even in his freshman year, given his talent and potential. Still, summer training could slow his ability to make an impact from the start of the season as he adjusts to the college game.
