FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas coach Bret Bielema announced Saturday 4-star tight end signee Jeremy Patton will not join the team until this summer.
That puts the Hogs’ number of early enrollees in the 2017 class at nine, all of which began classes this week.
“We had seven high school kids and two junior college players that are here in classes going to work and will be with us for spring ball,” Bielema said. “The only one that’s not obviously in that one is Jeremy Patton, and he’ll join us in the first summer session in June. He won’t be with us this first semester, but he’ll be with us after that.”
Patton, from Arizona Western College, is the No. 1 junior college tight end prospect in the class. He signed with Arkansas on Dec. 14, the first day junior college midterm transfers could sign.
Junior college wide receiver signees Brandon Martin and Jonathan Nance, both from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, are the Hogs’ other junior college signees. Both joined the program last week.
