Bielema is all business: Took all of one day for him to start dishing out warnings

With your bacon, have some Hogs for Breakfast. It’s SEC Country’s weekday column and roundup on all things Arkansas. Opinion, numbers, inane babble and more! And now with ironic exclamation points! There is no place like it on the web.

Vets better step it up

First day of fall camp and Arkansas coach Bret Bielema is already issuing cautions. Bielema spoke with reporters Thursday after the Razorbacks camp-opening practice and he outright said some of his veteran wide receivers better pick up their play or they’re in serious danger of losing their gig.

Bielema has lots to say

Anyone expecting much change from Bielema this season personality-wise was mistaken. The coach is the same as always, eliciting some laughs from even the non-sycophantic media members. Our Trent Shadid has a rundown of everything Bielema had to say after the first practice.

Arkansas cornerbacks are loaded

If there is one position on the defense to feel pretty good about if you’re a fan, it has to be cornerbacks. Ryan Pulley, Henre’ Toliver and Kevin Richardson are one of the best trios in the SEC. Here’s how the whole unit stacks up as SEC Country continues our complete roster preview.

Will the 4-star in-state QB commit to Arkansas or is he bound elsewhere?

Gerry Bohanon Jr.’s commitment is the biggest lingering question with the Razorbacks 2018 Class right now. Well, he and tight end Luke Ford. But Bohanon is the Natural Stater. Shadid tackled that question and several others in his weekly recruiting mailbag.

It’s only fair

We already tackled a worst-case scenario for Arkansas football this season. How about some good news now? Jason Kersey took the glass-half-full side of the possibility with his latest piece. An Arkansas best-case season looks like…

Three scholarship players left off 105-man roster

If that seems like a lot, just hold on. There’s a catch to it. The three are linebackers Alexy Jean-Baptiste (reshirt freshman) and Josh Paul (freshman) and then safety Montaric Brown. AJB is injured and Brown isn’t even on-campus yet. Paul, Bielema said, needs to get his academics in order first.

Tweets and the like

From a technical perspective, these are Arkansas’ three best players. Would you have guessed it?

It was a nice day.

Y’all might wanna get used to this combo.
