Welcome to SEC Country’s daily Arkansas Razorbacks recruiting notebook. This time, we discuss an upcoming visit from a 4-star prospect, a preferred walk-on sticking with the Razorbacks, a new 2018 offer and more.
Bohanon would ‘love’ Arkansas offer
Landing an offer from Alabama last week came as a pleasant surprise to Earle (Ark.) High School 2018 athlete Gerry Bohanon.
“I was very surprised, actually,” Bohanon recently told SEC Country. “Not expecting that. I was shocked.”
Bohanon (6-foot-4, 220 pounds) says the offer from the Crimson Tide did not come with a specific position in mind. Primarily a quarterback in high school, he also has experience playing safety and outside linebacker. He passed for more than 2,500 yards and rushed in excess of 1,000 yards last season.
Earle, a small town less than 30 miles west of Memphis, Tenn., is a Class 2A football school. Arkansas State and Memphis are Bohanon’s other FBS offers, and both of those are to play quarterback.
“Yes, I am a quarterback,” Bohanon said, “but I’m capable of playing any position.”
Arkansas has yet to offer him, but the coaching staff has shown consistent interest. The Razorbacks are one of several programs Bohanon is hoping will eventually give him an offer.
“I’ve been down there a few times to see some games,” Bohanon said. “I would love to have an offer from there, too.
“I would also love for Mississippi State, Auburn, TCU, Notre Dame, Louisville, some schools like that to reach out.”
Gulledge sticking with Razorbacks
Despite having scholarship opportunities available, De’Shawn Gulledge is sticking with Arkansas as a preferred walk-on. The 2017 wide receiver from Bald Knob (Ark.) High School reaffirmed his intentions via Twitter on Monday.
Gulledge (5-10, 175) is a 3-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He has reported several Division II offers and one from FCS program Southeast Missouri State. He initially announced he would be joining the Razorbacks last September.

Hogs offer 2018 RB
Arkansas on Sunday became the seventh FBS program to offer 2018 running back Keaontay Ingram.
Ingram (5-11, 190) is a 3-star recruit from Carthage (Texas) High School. He had a monster junior season in 2016, rushing for 2,045 yards and 29 touchdowns in 14 games.
The Razorbacks have offered two other running backs in the 2018 class — 4-star Kirby Bennett and 3-star Jalynn Sykes. Quarterback Connor Noland and linebacker Bumper Pool — both 4-star recruits — are the Hogs only current commits in the class.

QB signee Hyatt receives honor
Arkansas 2017 early enrollee Daulton Hyatt has been named the offensive player of the year in Alabama’s Class 5A by WBRC-TV in Birmingham, Ala.
Hyatt (6-4, 180) began classes at Arkansas last week after graduating in December from Etowah High School in Attalla, Ala. He threw for 2,240 yards with 25 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for Etowah during the 2016 season. He also completed 66 percent of his passes and rushed for 419 yards.
The No. 20 pro-style quarterback in the class, Hyatt helped lead Etowah to its first playoff victory in five seasons. The team finished 9-3 on the year.
