Bret Bielema was fired from his job as Arkansas coach following his team’s 48-45 loss to Missouri.
Bielema told reporters he fired as he was walking off the field and still had to give a press conference following the loss. This upset a number of media members, including former Arkansas running back Rawleigh Williams III.
Williams III led the Razorbacks in rushing last year and was expected to be a big member of this year’s team. But Williams suffered a career-ending injury in spring practice.
He deserved better

Former offensive lineman Dan Skipper also weighed in on the firing, passionately defending Bielema.
Plenty of negative thoughts about @UArkansas leadership right now, and how today was handled. On a positive note Coach B was a man of great character and leadership. He loved us and coached us as men, not as just football players. Thank you for everything @BretBielema

Former star Arkansas tight end Hunter Henry also weighed in on the firing and one his former teammate Austin Allen.
