Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema has never been one afraid to speak his mind. That trend continued on Wednesday during his weekly teleconference with SEC media members.
Bielema’s Razorbacks take on LSU this weekend in an annual battle for the “Golden Boot,” award to the winner of this annual game. Though the Hogs have won the game twice in a row, thereby having it around the offices for nearly two years, Bielema isn’t a fan of the look of the thing.
“It kind of looks like a bad neck chain from the ’80s,” Bielema said. “It’s a little gaudy. It’s a little big. But it’s gold plated.”
Even the apparent designer of the trophy couldn’t disagree with Bielema’s assessment:

The Golden Boot is believed to be the heaviest trophy in college football, at nearly 200 pounds. Regardless of what it looks like and how heavy it is, it’s safe to say Arkansas would like to keep it around for another year.
No. 25 Arkansas hosts No. 25 LSU at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday night. You can watch the game, and look for the Golden Boot, on ESPN.
