Hayden opens season with big performance
Arkansas 2017 running back commit Chase Hayden opened his senior season at St. George’s High School (Collierville, Tenn.) in a big way on Friday night.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound Hayden rushed for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns on 8 carries in a 49-28 victory against Trinity Christian Academy (Jackson, Tenn.).

Hayden committed to Arkansas in July, choosing the Razorbacks over Missouri, Oklahoma State, Michigan and Illinois. He is the reigning Mr. Football in Tennessee’s Division 2-A after leading St. George’s to a state title last season.
Hyatt accurate, mobile in first game
Razorbacks 2017 quarterback commit Daulton Hyatt of Etowah High School (Attalla, Ala.) also began his final high school season on Friday night.
Hyatt was 13-of-18 passing for 238 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception in the Blue Devils’ 48-33 loss to Southside (Ala.) High School. He added 49 rushing yards with 1 touchdown on 7 carries.
Hyatt (6-4, 182) is rated as the No. 20 pro-style quarterback in the class. The highlights from the game Friday suggest he may have dual-threat abilities. He was forced to elude the rush on several occasions. He turned busted plays into positive gains.
Jackson attends scrimmage
Wide receiver commit Koilan Jackson attended the Saturday scrimmage at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
Jackson (6-3, 207) is a 3-star prospect in the 2017 class. He’ll begin his season with Joe T. Robinson High School (Little Rock, Ark.) on Aug. 29 against Lakeside High School (Hot Springs, Ark.) at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Oklahoma prospect increasingly interested in Hogs
Wayne Jones, a 2018 defensive back prospect, tweeted last week he’s beginning to like Arkansas more.
Jones (6-0, 190) is a 3-star recruit from Owasso (Okla.) High School. He is the No. 11 prospect from Oklahoma in the 2018 class. Arkansas wide receiver Keon Hatcher also attended Owasso.
Jones has offers from Arkansas State, Illinois, New Mexico and Texas-San Antonio.
