Arkansas has hired its new athletic director on Monday, but the search for a new head football coach continues as the Razorbacks try to find the right man to lead them to being a SEC title contender again.
One coach that Arkansas is keeping its eyes on is Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables, who has helped the Tigers defense turn into one of the best units in the country over the past few years.
When asked by radio personality Bo Mattingly on whether or not rumors of his interest in the Razorbacks job is true, Venables gave a candid answer.
“That’s a tough thing to answer. I have not spoken to anybody but my representatives have, and I’ll leave it at that.”
Before joining the Tigers in 2012 under Dabo Swinney, Venables had served as the defensive coordinator for Oklahoma from 2004-11. He was with the Sooners as well from 1999-2003 as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
