There have been a number of reports that Arkansas will make a big offer for Gus Malzahn. And the dollar numbers for those offers are starting to come out.
According to a report from Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, one number that is being thrown out is a 7-year, $50 million offer for Malzahn. And according to Ray Glier of The Athletic, one source said, “if Arkansas were to offer him $60 million, he would have to go.”
Malzahn was asked afterwards about where he wanted to be with regards to Auburn.
“Yes,” Malzahn said. “I’m happy to be here at Auburn.” Malzahn went on to say the future is bright on the Plains and “wants to be” the coach at Auburn next year. But he doesn’t say he will be, according to SEC Country’s Lauren Shute.
Malzahn is the top candidate for Arkansas, according to SEC Country’s Trent Shadid. Should Malzahn stay at Auburn, Mike Norvell would be the No. 2 candidate.
