The New England Patriots appear interested in former Arkansas tailback Jonathan Williams.
Williams met with the Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Monday, according to The Boston Globe’s Jeff Howe. New England already met with Williams during the NFL Combine in February.
Williams missed the entire 2015 season after suffering a foot injury during a scrimmage last fall. Rather than sticking around for a redshirt season, he elected to go pro. He led the Razorbacks with 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2014 and is projected to be a third or fourth round pick by CBSSports.com.
The Patriots have been a revolving door for running backs during their dominant reign and are constantly looking for fresh blood at the position. Williams would likely compete with Dion Lewis and James White for snaps if selected by New England.
