NEW ORLEANS — Giovanni LaFrance’s recruitment is heating up, and Arkansas is making its move.
After picking up offers from nationally renowned programs in recent weeks, Arkansas became the first SEC school to extend an offer to the three-star linebacker from St. Augustine High School (New Orleans).
“It means a lot to pick up an SEC offer,” LaFrance told SEC Country. “It means my hard work has been paying off.”
LaFrance is the nation’s No. 33 inside linebacker and rated as Louisiana’s No. 43 prospect.
The 6-foot-1, 239-pound linebacker just wrapped up an official visit to Tulane, where he was previously committed to earlier in the fall. He was also tentatively scheduled to make official visits to Utah this coming weekend and Louisville on Jan. 29, but revised his plans once the offer rolled in.
“I’m heading there this weekend,” Harris said.
LaFrance is close friends with John Ehret High School (Marrero, La.) linebacker De’Jon Harris, a longtime Arkansas commit.
The thought of playing beside Harris in Fayetteville, Ark. has certainly crossed LaFrance’s mind before.
“We can dominate,” LaFrance said.
